Girl Power Mini Lesson Plan

Learn about Women in Rock

$2.00

Many female musicians write and perform songs that are about self-empowerment and strength because of the extra work it took to be taken seriously as musicians in the past. In this lesson, we hear four stories of women in music who paved the way for women to come into the music scene. Stories include: Joan Jett, Janet Jackson, The Go-Go's, and Bikini Kill.

The activity is a self-portrait, as you are. No make up, no filters, and if your hair is a mess, draw it that way. If you're in your slippers and a comfortable Tshirt, embrace the beauty that is you without trying to be something different.
